Hyperesthesia is one of two kinds of skin sensitivities that occur in people who have fibromyalgia. This kind of sensitivity is a sensitivity of touch to the skin. Some, even something like a blanket will cause pain as it is contacting the skin and causing pain. Even small, lightweight things touching the skin feel like the body is being crushed by something.
